Our Work
SAVE Ohio Pets is a non-profit whose mission is to reduce the homeless pet population in Central Ohio through community outreach and promoting spay/neuter, adoption, volunteering, and education. We operate a free, monthly vet care and wellness clinic for those needing financial assistance. With the help of community sponsors, we conduct spay and neuter clinics via the Rascal Mobile Unit.
Our Accomplishments
2017 was our first year of offering our free clinics for pets in Central Ohio. Since then we have sterilized over 2000 cats and dogs in 5 years! We have assisted thousands more Franklin County (Ohio) pets get the medical care they would not have received otherwise.

Local Rescues: Thank you to the local rescues that helped fund our start.
Vet Clinics: Thank you to local vet clinics, and veterinary professionals who help us throughout the year. Our partnership is key to ensuring that we stay true to our mission of reducing the homeless pet population in central Ohio. Additional ‘thank you’s’ go to a host of local pharmacists, drug reps, and vet clinics, like Cats Only that donate so many medically necessary products and procedures.
Local Businesses, Grants and Partnerships: Thank you to Ohio Health Center (OHC) for allowing us to use their facility for the clinics each and every month. Thank you to our individual donors, local businesses and organizations such as Mutts & Co, Hollywood Feed of Bexley, and Hockey and Hounds, that generously contribute funds, food and supplies. We would be remiss if we didn’t also mention our collaboration with The Rascal Unit who provides SOP with low cost spay and neuter services through their mobile veterinary hospital as well as, SOS. Additionally, we are always grateful for those of you who purchase Pet themed license plates for you cars, as those funds help support local non-profits like SOP, through the Ohio Pet Fund grant program.
For 2024 we are excited to announce that we have been awarded a $1000 grand from Athletes for Animals. Since 2013, Athletes for Animals has successfully connected athletes with a shared passion for animals, educated the public about responsible pet ownership, promoted pet adoption, raised funds and distributed grants to support best practices in animal welfare.
